Reblogging because I’m Irish. And I live in the home of these potatoes. And they are magical.
This is what they look like before midnight. But come that magic hour, when the Potato Fairy (great Queen Solanacea herself) visits them and imbues the worthy ones with her power, they take on the true golden gleam and hue that shows forth their goodness to the world.
Only for the hours between midnight and dawn (or when they cross your dash) may they bend the forces of the world to their finders’ benefit. After that they conceal their virtue under mere vitamin content and their quality as chips. Yet they are always golden at heart.
So respect the Golden Potato.

I’ve never seen a squirrel take off with anything it didn’t consider food. Having this little albino bastard steal the golden token was dumb.
You know what would have been better? A raven! Because birds are the ones who like shiny things. Nancy can still have a tree climbing mini-game, but not by following a squirrel!
This is so true, and to be fair if they still wanted the same Simon says mini game, she could’ve spotted the bird’s nest and been like “how am I going to get up there???” And then had his lil squirrel ass show her the way.
Plus the whole Edgar Allan Poe thing totally lended itself to a raven being used
It’s me yo girl… jk I don’t think anyone follows me but it’s okay I’m just vibing and typing out my Nancy Drew thoughts bc THE NEW GAME IS COMINGGGGGGG! I’m so exciteeeeeed. They just posted more shit on Instagram/FB, I’m living for it, and I’m p high. So yeah, anyway…I was thinking about how I’m especially looking forward to Nancy Drew and the Mystery of the Seven Keys (sidenote: wonder what the acronym is going to be?!?!? MSK? MYS? KEY?)bc I LOVE the ND storylines in general. Even the games that I really don’t fucks with and play as often (I’m looking especially at you, CRY, RAN, and MED), I still love clicking through most of the conversations, playing out the little side missions/mini games, and just exploring the overall gamescape. So…
Even if KEY (I’m going with that for myself for now) is as horrible to play as MID was, it will (hopefully!!!) still have a good storyline and fun little tasks and random phone calls … all of those classic ND things that make all the difference. Like… even with MID, I really did love the Johnny cake thing or whatever, and it was kinda cool to explore “Salem” and learn some history. I also LOVED the herbs task. But, of course, HATE HATE HATE the non-point-and-click… I can’t even put into words whatever the fuck MID used to move around! I am sure there is a word for it, but frankly, I don’t care to use it. I hated it. 0/10. Still hate it. But, again, I know I’ll go back to it SOMEDAY bc I get in just the right mood… all bc of that storyline and the characters … and the herbs!!!!! But back to KEY…
The Czech Republic?!?!?!? I cannot WAIT to see more of the environment. I am SO EXCITED to find out how/why ND finds herself there. And, of course, I’m looking forward to playing the coffee (I think???) mini-game that HER keeps teasing!!!
I’m also LOVING the clues that HER keeps posting. That energy is really great and so appreciated! And, special shout-out to all of the fucking smart ass mofos out there who keep solving their little hints and clues and puzzles (which are all HARD AF, in my humble opinion) and then posting them for lazy ppl like me!!!! I love a good walkthrough, love all of the helping hands… I do really TRY to solve a lot of puzzles myself, but when it comes to the more difficult ones (especially these clues that HER keeps posting! Like damn!), I usually need some assistance, lol.
Hello and welcome to January’s challenge! Since our game design was so popular, I thought it would be fun to do another design challenge, and this one is pretty straightforward: design a character you’d like to see in a Nancy Drew game!
Here are the rules:
You have until January 31st to create a character and post with the #nancydrewnetworkchallenge tag. (If you participated in the game design challenge, feel free to use one of your existing characters and expand upon them.)
You have to have a visual representation of your character–– you can draw them, make a moodboard, use the sims, create them on a piccrew, whatever you want!
In addition to your visual graphic, you also have to answer some fun questions about your character (posted below).
That’s it! I’ll be reblogging the posts I see as quickly as I can, and then we’ll do another special mini-poll to vote on the best fanmade character!
Here are the questions to answer about your made-up character (feel free to copy/paste):
Demographics: Tell me about your character. What is your character’s name? Pronouns? Age? Ethnicity? Preferred style?
Personality: What is your character like? Are they shy and reserved, or loud and outgoing?
Occupation: If your character was in a Nancy Drew game, what would they be doing? Are they a student? Do they hold a job?
Background: Tell me about your character’s backstory. Where did they grow up? Do they have siblings? Did anything interesting happen to them as children, or growing up?
Interests: Tell me about your character’s interests and/or hobbies. Are they skilled in anything? Do they have any eccentric tastes?
Secrets: What skeletons are hiding in their closet? Are they keeping anything hidden? What would Nancy find if she snooped through their belongings?
Misc: Feel free to add any interesting/factual/important details about your character!
